Great Gift for the Eyelanders of Fiji

In the winter of 2012, I had a wonderful call from Patricia Kesten, President and Chief Design Officer of ICU Eyewear (based in California). She wanted to know if Pack for a Purpose would have a use for brand new, high-end readers’ glasses as they had an excess of samples they had been saving for quite some time. I was thrilled to be able to answer YES!

With the gracious assistance of a volunteer from California, the 100 pair of glasses were delivered in Fiji. They arrived in the Wiatabu community in Taveuni, Fiji for the projects supported by Matava at the beginning of the new year. The receipt of these glasses by members of the community helped literally change the focus of their lives.
