Pat’s Story

I heard about Pack for a Purpose on NPR a week before we visited a resort near Akumal, Mexico. I enjoyed shopping for a few supplies that we had room for in our bags for the project supported by Sandos Playacar in Playa del Carmen. When I asked at our resort if they might help us deliver our supplies there, I had a delightful interchange with a young woman at the registration desk at Grand Palladium, the resort we were staying at. Marisol was so pleased by my gesture she offered to take the items to the resort herself on her day off. When I exclaimed about her generosity, she said, “Oh, no. You are so generous to give to our Mayan community. You have made me so happy!”  I’ll never forget this happy moment.
