Ngerende Island Lodge

Project #1

Ngerende Community & Conservation Projects
Ngerende Island Lodge is committed and passionate about assisting local communities and have initiated projects which support, empower and provide education and a better future for the entire community not forgetting the conservation of the wildlife and the environment. Project includes funding a community school where more than 70 children are currently educated in a church and take turns to be taught. The lodge also encourages both the Masai community and self-help groups in the slums, to make recycled handcrafted products which are sold to provide reasonable earnings for the otherwise impoverished but talented artisans and sculptors. Earnings allow them to provide for themselves and families in terms of food, medical bills and education.
