The non-profit organization Living Dreams helps to enrich and empower underprivileged children living in orphanages in Japan with the objective to help prepare them for becoming young adults and leaving the children’s home. The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, through Community Footprints supports the children in many ways, including arranging cultural experiences at the hotel, which are designed to educate and inspire them to succeed in school and life.
General School Supplies:
Stuffed Animals/Soft Toys and Toy Blocks
Baseball Gloves (Right-Handed and Left-Handed), and Soccer Balls
Acrylic Paints and Brushes
T-Shirts (ages 8 through 18)
Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
