    Project #1

We support several rural schools close to the tourist areas in Guanacaste. In the community, these small schools educate children until they are old enough to travel to another town to go to high school.

If you want to make a visit to any of the schools during your vacation please coordinate with us during your stay and please do not forget to leave us your email address if you cannot visit the schools and would like some pictures of the school supplies delivery.

    Project #2

CEPIA (Culture, Education and Psychology for Infants and Adolescents) is a Costa Rican non-profit organization that seeks to promote culture, health, sports and education for children and teenagers from low-income families in the coastal communities of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

    Project #3

Cats and Dogs Neutering Campaigns and Health Care, in local Communities near Playa Tamarindo.

Since 2016, Capitán Suizo has been working to organize neutering campaigns for dogs and cats and provide this service free of charge to the population of the Tamarindo Beach nearby villages. We aim to support people with low resources, who love their pets but do not have the financial possibility to pay for medical services for them, as well as caring for stray animals and helping them to find a home. We support these neutering campaigns by organizing them with the communities and providing them transportation, cages, staff to work on the campaigns, and volunteers.

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them. If you prefer, you may reach out directly to them to inquire about items which may be available for purchase locally. Arranging visits to community projects is beyond the scope of our mission. If you wish to visit a project, contact the participant and they can let you know what is possible.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
    • Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
    • The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.

Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
