Student-Eco-Club: In order to preserve and protect the natural habitat for the resident Royal Bengal Tiger, Greater One-horned Rhinoceros, Asiatic Elephant, and numerous other mammals, reptiles, and birdlife, the local Madhela Higher Secondary School established an Eco Club in 1996.
Tiger Tops Karnali Jungle Lodge, through its own conservation programs and with the assistance of its trained naturalists and donations from guests and friends, is helping students in their efforts to spread conservation awareness and skills.
Students are engaged in eco gardens, tree planting, environmental training, lectures and drama, news, quizzes, debates, and competition.
General School Supplies:
Colored Pencils, Geometry Sets, and Pencils
Field Notebooks/Sketch Pads and Watercolor Paints
Various Board Games
Badminton Rackets and Shuttlecocks, Binoculars, Netball/Basketballs, Ping Pong/Table Tennis Sets, and Soccer Balls
Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
