Laguna Lodge Eco-Resort & Nature Reserve

Laguna Community Care promotes the rights and interests of the underprivileged in the Mayan community of Santa Cruz. By providing medical support and education we add meaning and value to their lives so they can meet their full potential. Laguna Lodge uses its fully indigenous staff as a liaison with the local Maya Kaqchikel. Through our sustainable care alliance we provide medical aid for a variety of illness to local people who do not have the knowledge, social skills or money to be able to help themselves get out of pain. We ask skilled professionals to donate appointments and treatments or provide them at a reduced rate. We also trade stays at Laguna Lodge where possible in return for medical treatments or education tools which have been donated.

Laguna Community Care provides aid for education and nutritional support for students from families with little funds. The school serves 20 students ages 6-16.
