Project #3
The "Ancianos" in Nicaragua are respected and admired; yet are often overlooked when it comes to social events and programs. In 2003, Jean Brugger decided that she wanted to remedy this, and began the Ancianos Luncheon Program. This event involves providing lunch and dessert for the guests, as well as playing games (such as Bingo) and dancing to live music. Most of the time FAJB makes small packets for everyone to take home and that includes personal care products; these gifts depend directly on the donations we receive throughout the year. Currently, more than one hundred and fifty "Ancianos" attend each time!
