Saruni Samburu is located in one of the most beautiful game reserves and conservation areas in Kenya. Our mission is to protect and support our local environment, wildlife, and communities. In order to achieve this, we work in close collaboration with the local community, helping them where possible.
Kiltimany Primary School started in 1996 under a tree and over the past 17 years has grown significantly in size and attendees. The school has 100 students from ages 6 through 14 years old. It is run by the government but relies on the assistance of basic amenities to help the children learn.
Many of our staff have a strong connection to Kiltimany School. Some have even been educated there and some have taught there in the past.
General School Supplies:
Chalk, Colored Pencils, Crayons, Erasers, Handheld Pencil Sharpeners, Pencils, Pens, and Rulers
(English) Dictionaries and Encyclopedias
Jump Ropes and Soccer Balls
New or Gently Used Children’s Clothing
Sanitary Napkins and Tampons
Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
