The Joie de Vivre primary school serves children coming from neighboring villages by offering courses ranging from alphabetization to preparation for CPE Exams. The main activities are arts and crafts, sewing, pastry making, sports, gardening, plumbing, and industrial drawings.
The courses prepare the children for further studies or for entering an active/work life. The objective is to take care of children who were wandering around the village, to give them basic education, to keep them far from the dangers of life in the streets, and to help them become responsible adults.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
