Nondzame Educare Centre was started in 2006 and is located in Guguletu, a Township 15km from Cape Town CBD. It is not just a Pre-School, but a safe haven of hope and happiness for more than 200 children every day. Children at Nondzame Educare Centre face many challenges and all of them are from desperately poor families and conditions. Because a lot of children go to school without a meal in the morning, a breakfast club was started at Laura’s home, where children eat breakfast every morning before school.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
