Located on Providenciales in Turks & Caicos, The Edward Gartland Youth Centre is dedicated to improving the lives and wellbeing of local youths. This nonprofit organization is a safe haven where adolescents can build life, leadership and social skills that will help them conquer daily challenges and set the foundation for achieving their dreams.
Guests of The Somerset on Grace Bay are encouraged to give back to the Turks & Caicos community. On vacation, guests can volunteer their time at the center and interact with the youths, or they can pack supplies that will be donated to the organization.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
