Water Walkers Boys & Girls Club was founded in 2012, and started as a drop-in Center that provided educational and recreational support to children and youth within the community free of charge. The center now provides additional outreach programs, including a literacy program, mentoring, and clothing.
The center supports over two hundred children who live within the Southside communities of Belize City. All these children come from underprivileged and vulnerable families.
As part of a Literacy Program, the Center has been able to provide after-school support to children who cannot read learning software and other donated equipment and books. Volunteer personnel offer daily support to students who need help completing assignments, projects and examinations.
Ultimately, our vision is to bring Hope and to allow every child and their family the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the development of their communities and Belize.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
