Sunset Beach Resort, Ambergris Caye

Please note that you may be asked to pay duty on donations brought with you to Belize as you go through customs entering the country. If you are bringing donations for the Ambergris Caye Elementary School (ACES) in San Pedro, on request, ACES will issue a letter confirming the donations you are bringing which can help (as donations to schools are generally exempt from duty), although still duty may be requested. Alternatively, you can purchase one or more of the wishlist items in Belize; in San Pedro there is a pet store and a variety store which carry some of the items on the lists. Please contact Barbara Smalley at with any questions

    Initiatives Supported

All the needs are current as of November 25, 2020

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
    • Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
    • The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.

Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
