Villa Verano

    Project #1

The Hopkins branch of the Belize Humane Society (HBHS) is an association we support. Although it is well established, on-going support is necessary and much appreciated. Throughout the year, Villa Verano offers free housing to visiting veterinary teams; however other needs, such as supplies and medicine, are areas in which our guests can participate.

    Project #2

The primary school of Hopkins Village, Holy Family R.C., is open to the public and managed by the Catholic Church. The school supports 350 children from ages 3 through 14 years old. The school is run on a limited budget and quite often the students and classrooms are in need of basic school supplies.

    Initiatives Supported

All the needs are current as of February 8, 2021

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them. If you prefer, you may reach out directly to them to inquire about items which may be available for purchase locally.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
    • Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
    • The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.

Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
