For 4 years we have been actively involved with the local primary school (the only school), teaching English, creating and stocking the valley’s first library, teaching computer skills (with a single laptop which was donated), taking the kids hiking, sponsoring an annual trash clean up day (and party!), teaching the kids field biology (camera trapping) and helping them learn how to apply for funds for themselves – as in the school trip that they hope to organize annually.
The school classrooms are basically bare, with electricity only recently installed. Any school supplies or equipment are invaluable if this next generation is to learn the skills which are necessary in order to function in the larger world. Thank you for thinking of us!

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
