Stories from Turkey
Facts about Turkey
The Turkish landscape is an incredible draw for dreamers and vacationers. When planning their trips abroad, tourists heading to Turkey can begin mapping out a trip filled with historic battle grounds and ruined castles, the sites mentioned in literary classics, and impressive empirical palaces. Of course, tourists and travelers in Turkey can also find plenty of ways to indulge in the beautiful scenery with relaxing days in the sun and visits to the Mediterranean coast. But a fulfilling trip abroad can include more than picturesque days in this country. Tourists and others interested in giving back to the community can help non-profits by donating to service projects in the area that they visit.
For vacationers interested in donating goods during their trip abroad to Turkey, the Ritz-Carlton’s Community Footprints Program accepts donated school supplies and other goods. This community project is dedicated to helping a large group of local children, ages six to eight, acquire the supplies that they need to prosper in the classroom. Travelers and humanitarians interested in responsible tourism and helping this community project can donate school supplies, including academic books in Turkish or English, pens, pencils, and paper. This non-profit project also collects gently used clothing for children ages six to eight and some learning games.
