Phka Villa

The Sobbhana Day Care Center, supported by the Sobbhana Foundation and Hearts and Hands for Cambodia, provides a preschool education similar to U.S.A. Headstart for 75 children from ages 3 through 6 years old. There are 8 villages that feed into the Center. These preschoolers are provided two meals a day, and follow a schedule which includes: lessons, free play, bath time, and nap time.

There are several ongoing projects connected to the Center which include: literacy classes for our parents, kitchen gardens, and an all-volunteer English class for our teachers. Future projects which will be implemented once there is funding include a beekeeping project for the Center.

Initiatives Supported

All the needs are current as of February 15, 2019

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.

Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
