Four Points by Sheraton Puntacana Village
Built and equipped by our Puntacana Foundation in 2004, the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic High School demonstrates our commitment to providing opportunities to the local community. It is the only technical high school within many miles of the Punta Cana International Airport, serving young people from families in need.
Students receive a basic high school education as well as technical training in areas like computer science, hospitality, electricity, plumbing, cooking and refrigeration, and English language. An Elementary School (5th to 8th grades) has been functioning during the afternoons in the same facilities since August 2011.

As recently as 2005, the nearby communities had virtually no health services available to them and had to travel as far as 50 miles to see a doctor. Recognizing an opportunity to improve the community health, our Puntacana Foundation formed an unique, public-private partnership made up of the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Ministry of Health, and the Neighborhood Association.
This coalition has brought free, quality, primary healthcare to over 150 patients a day. The services include: laboratory, pharmacy, familiar medicine, gynecology, pediatric unit, medical missions, emergency unit, ambulance, and additional services.

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them. If you prefer, you may reach out directly to them to inquire about items which may be available for purchase locally. Arranging visits to community projects is beyond the scope of our mission. If you wish to visit a project, contact the participant and they can let you know what is possible.
Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
