I was travelling to Fiji for a work conference and found Pack and Purpose initiative online. What a fantastic idea!

My company RCI Asia Pacific donated some funds and I purchased items that were listed on the Pack for a Purpose website: crayons, pencils, flash cards, wall charts, general stationary supplies, etc.

I choose to give the items to VOMO Resort who supports two local villages at the bottom of Yasawa Islands, located just 30 minutes by boat from the resort. Yamata Village is home to 130 adults and 70 children, and Yalobi Village is home to 158 adults and 46 children. The villages are about an hour and a half away by boat from the mainland with limited modes of transport, which makes it very difficult to get supplies to.

I landed at the airport and handed the pack to the VOMO representative, so easy and satisfying knowing that these items will bring pleasure to children on the remote islands.
