Erica’s Story

I became familiar with Pack for Purpose this year while attending a business trip with my husband in Curacao. I was deeply touched by just donating basic items that we take for granted can make such an impact in someone else’s life. So when we planned our Christmas holiday vacation to Cartagena, Colombia, I knew I wanted to participate with Pack for a Purpose.

It was so easy I contacted Pack for a Purpose and my liaison Barbara Smalley provided me all the information I needed to assist the children from Foundation Amigos del Mar. We were unable to drop off the donations but we were able to give them to Mayerlin Casseres, Assistant Manager at the Hyatt. She was so kind and gracious to accept the items on our behalf.

In addition to my family two other families joined us in Cartagena. We were able donate almost 20 pounds worth of much needed items, including surfing supplies, toys, books, health and wellness items and school supplies.

Going forward we will continue to always Pack for a Purpose. You never realize the satisfaction you get when you are able to assist someone without expecting anything in return.
