Maria’s Story

I was so excited to learn about Pack For a Purpose when getting ready for our vacation to Turks and Caicos.  I found the information when researching our resort, Ocean Club West.  I took advantage of back to school sales before we left Texas.  I’ve spent the past 31 years teaching elementary school.  I know how hard (and often embarrass) it is for kids who don’t come to school with their supplies.  I have always bought extras so nobody ever went without.

I ended up switching to a larger suitcase as well as having my brother bring supplies in his dive bag.  I can’t wait to pack extra on all of our future trips.  The ladies working at the front desk were so very appreciative of our donation.  After seeing prices in the grocery stores on island, I wish I had brought more.  Next summer, I will.  Especially after 2020, I’m blessed to be able to share extra supplies with the families of an island which is so beautiful and now has a special place in my heart.
