Fairmont Mayakoba’s Guests Give Generously When They Pack for a Purpose

The Fairmont Mayakoba became a Pack for a Purpose participant over 10 years ago. Pack for a Purpose has been supportive for many years thanks to the generosity of our guests who decide to donate a space in their baggage to bring gifts for our community. Over the years, many of our guests at the Fairmont Mayakoba Hotel have decided to undertake this journey with us, helping different associations and communities, from supporting the education of community children to helping animals rescued from the street. This journey could not be undertaken to the same magnitude if it were not for our guests.

We are deeply grateful and happy when our guests come forward to donate much-needed school supplies for local children and articles for animals in need. Assisting the less fortunate is part of our Accor DNA and we express our sincere appreciation knowing that our guests feel the same way and are part of achieving our goals. The communities and associations we help have greatly benefited, helping them continue their great work towards society, promoting education for our kids, providing them toys, clothes, footwear, and giving them better opportunities.

We support Animal Action and Beach Rescue, which rescue animals from abuse and the streets, by providing hygiene and health items and food.

Also among the associations we support is the Aitana Foundation, which supports children with cancer by providing temporary accommodation to the children’s families so that they can spend the necessary time at home while the children receive their treatments. We provide them school supplies, clothes and toys.

Finally, we support the Vida y Esperanza community, to whom we give school supplies, clothes, shoes, and toys that our guests have donated.

In December 2021, we held a Christmas inn with children, teachers and parents. We gave them toys, clothes, shoes, school supplies, cleaning and hygiene supplies. Thanks to the contributions of our guests, our collaborators were also inspired to participate in this gracious event, after we invited them to bring toys to donate.

Thanks to Pack for a Purpose, Fairmont Mayakoba can contribute to and help our community. We can also encourage more guests and travelers to contribute positively to any community they visit, not only here in Playa Del Carmen, but also wherever they visit, having the opportunity to make a positive change and a Big Impact on those who benefit from their kind actions.
