Monique Thorpe’s Story

In December 2022 I had planned a volunteer trip to the developing Indonesian island of Sumba to work with the incredible Sumba Hospitality Foundation. As part of my research about the island I stumbled across the Pack for a Purpose page setup by The Sumba Foundation. I got in touch with the Foundation and asked what they were most in need of, the answer: babies clothing for the mothers in their anti-stunting program.

I am a high school teacher in Australia, and put the call out to my co-workers and friends for quality babies clothes I could take over. The response was overwhelming. I was able to take to Sumba a suitcase full of babies clothes, which The Sumba Foundation distributed to women and families in need.
