Casitas Tenorio
Project
***URGENT****
Our community has recently been devastated by Hurricane Otto. Houses have been destroyed and lives lost. We seek donations to help children and their families rebuild their lives.
Casitas Tenorio has been involved in volunteering at and seeking supplies for many local primary schools, the high school, an English language school and also a school in a nearby Indigenous community. The project benefits local schoolchildren and their families.
English is very important in our area and for the future of our community. There are limited resources here and any stationery and learning supplies will be greatly appreciated by all.
The schools have dining and outdoor areas and the children enjoy sports, so any additional supplies would be great. You can even come and visit the schools during your stay if you’d like. Please help! It’s a great way to give back to our local community. The area is rural and poverty is high.

Initiatives Supported

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them.
Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.
Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
