Suzy & Kim Hoberecht’s Story

On our previous trip, we travelled to Bijagua in northern Costa Rica. Through our lodging, Casitas Tenorio, we learned about Pack For A Purpose and received a list of supplies that the local elementary and high schools could desperately use. We shopped and filled a huge old duffel with about 75 pounds of early reader books, young adult chapter books, and high school texts. We were able to stuff about 75 books in all into our luggage. We are traveling again this spring and plan to take solar lights to the schoolchildren of an island in the Bocas del Toro archipelago of Panama. It makes us so happy to be able to do this. Our thought is that if we are fortunate enough to be able to take trips like this, we can share some of that good fortune with the communities we visit.
