    World Unite!

Every traveler, not only participants of World Unite!, can deliver requested supplies for the project(s) on this page. You can either visit the project and deliver the requested supplies in person, or you can meet the World Unite! coordinator in town who is happy to deliver your supplies to the project. In both cases, please contact us by email (info@world-unite.de) at least 3 days in advance to arrange a visiting/meeting time and place.

    Project

The daycare center Los Ositos in León, Nicaragua is attended by about 90 children from ages 0 through 6 years old, which mainly come from poor families. Younger children and babies 0 through 2 years attend kindergarten, while the 3 year olds through to 6 year olds learn at the preschool. Due to a lack of funds, the daycare center is poorly equipped. Above all, there is a lack of creative learning and playing materials.

All the needs are current as of November 25, 2020

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
    • Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
    • The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.

Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
