Through our association, Project Luangwa, we aim at improving the education of thousands of children in the general Mfuwe area. We help 8 to 10 schools with sponsorship, equipment and school supplies, construction of classrooms and libraries, as well as sanitary blocks.

General School Supplies:
Chalk, Colored Pencils, Erasers, Handheld Pencil Sharpeners, Pencils, Pencil Cases/Bags, Pens, Solar Calculators, Wide-Ruled Paper, and Math Sets

Educational Games/Toys:
Building bricks, Counting Resources, Play Pots and Pans, and Plastic Fruits

Project #2

Kafunta Safaris founded the Mfuwe Junior Football League which quickly evolved in the Mfuwe Sports Association aimed at keeping the children, girls and boys, busy with sports such as soccer ball and netball/basketball while learning the values of team spirit as well as education.

Needs

Sports/Outdoor Activity:
Inflation Pumps, Netball/Basketballs, Soccer Balls, and Team Uniforms/Kits for Soccer

Project #3

Project Luangwa is finding new ways to raise funding to help develop the local community schools and empower women of the general Mfuwe area. The women’s craft shop creates and sells high quality souvenirs.

Initiatives Supported

All the needs are current as of December 15, 2017

Listed on this page are the specific needs requested by the community project(s) so you can choose exactly what to pack for a purpose and express your gratitude to the local community with the supplies you take them.

Candy and balloons are not on the needs list as they are harmful for the children and the environment for the following reasons:
• Few of the children benefiting from these projects have access to toothpaste, toothbrushes, or a dentist. The candy promotes cavities.
• The balloons once they become deflated are a choking hazard for local wildlife.

Instead of taking candy or balloons, use that space for additional requested supplies, as they are priceless.
